The Virginian-Pilot, Thursday, November 17, 1960

NORFOLK - George W. Bonney, 71, of 827 E. Berkley Ave. died Tuesday afternoon in a
Norfolk hospital.


He was a son of George and Mrs. Mary Wilson Bonney and was born in Norfolk County.


After 30 years in Brooklyn Naval Shipyard, he retired and recently worked at Old
Dominion shipyard, Berkley, for five years.


He was a member of Berkley Lodge 12, JBPOEW, and King Solomon Bodge 4, AF&AM of
Brooklyn. He also was a member of First Baptist church, Berkley.


Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Helen H. Bonney; two sons, Garland Bonney and Eugene
Bonney, and one daughter, Miss Cora Bonney, all of New York City.


The body was taken Chairman Funeral Home. A funeral service will be conducted at
First Baptist Church, Berkley, Sunday at 1 p.m. by the Rev. Noel C. Taylor, pastor.
Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
