Virginian Pilot and The Norfolk Landmark February 24 ,1919 

Mrs. Asenath Bonney, wife of the late H.W. Bonney and for the last thirty years 
one of the best known women in Norfolk, died at the family residence No. 104 
Thirty-second Street at 5:15 o'clock last evening, aged 94. Mrs. Bonney was born 
in North Carolina. She is survived by two daughters, Miss Nannie Bonney, of 
Norfolk and Mrs. Walter Capps, of Knotts Island, N.C., one son, H.G. Bonney, of 
Norfolk, eighteen grandchildren and twenty-eight great-grandchildren. The funeral 
will be held from the residence at 2:30 o'clock tomorrow afternoon.
