The Virginian Pilot and Norfolk Landmark April 7, 1934


Solomon W. Bonney, aged 77, prominent retired farmer of Princess Anne County, 
died at his residence on Louise Avenue, Oceana, at 11:15 o’clock Thursday night 
after a long illness. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Clara Virginia Bonney; 
one son, Charles Lynwood Bonney, and one granddaughter, Miss Virginia Land 
Bonney, both of Rocky Mount, N.C.
Mr. Bonney was a lifelong resident of Princes Anne County and had resided at 
Oceana for the past seven years. He was a member of the Oceana Methodist 
Episcopal Church. Services will be held at H.D. Oliver’s Funeral Apartments, 
610-612 East Freemason Street, this afternoon at 2 o’clock, with the Rev. B.B. 
Bland, pastor of the Oceana Methodist Church officiating. Interment will be in 
Elmwood Cemetery.
