She was born in Manhattan, the daughter of the late Andrew and Maria Cordelli. Ida was a member of St. Matthew's Catholic Church in Virginia Beach, and was predeceased by her husband of 61 years, Joseph F. Bontemps. Ida is survived by 5 children, Cheri Congleton, of Chesapeake, VA, Joseph A. Bontemps and wife, Debra, of Massapequa, NY, Cathy Bontemps and her partner, Brian Innes, of Kill Devil Hills, NC, Donald Bontemps of Fort Lauderdale, FL, and Janet Benedetti and her husband, Vince, of Richmond, VA; 5 grandchildren, Thomas Bontemps of Bayport, NY; Brian Bontemps and wife, Karen, of Monroe, NY, Katelynne Congleton of Chesapeake, VA, Vincent and Anna Maria Benedetti of Richmond, VA; and one great-grandson, Colby Joseph Bontemps, of Monroe, NY. She is also survived by her cousin, Irve Villani, of Rochester, Michigan; a niece, Gayle Kalin, of Baldwin, NY; nephews, Frank DeClara, of N. Babylon, NY, Steve DeClara and wife, Valerie, of Oceanside, NY; and many great-nieces and -nephews. The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Thomas Mauser and the nurses at Chesapeake Regional Medical Center ICU 4th Unit. A Mass of the Resurrection will be held on Saturday, June 23, 2012, at 10 a.m. in St. Matthew's Catholic Church by the Reverend Father John Abe, with burial to follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Norfolk, VA.
