Col. Ret. Inez E. Holmes Booker, DD, of the 2400 block of Dunbarton Drive, a nurse, educator and administrator, died June 22, 1995, in Chesapeake General Hospital. She was a native of Norfolk and the daughter of William and Pattie Williams Holmes. Mrs. Booker had been employed with the Camden, N.J. Public Schools; Staten Island, N.Y., Medical Center and was also a 20-year retired Army veteran with the rank of lieutenant colonel. She was a member of Friendship Baptist Church, Camden, N.J. Mrs. Booker also received her Doctorate of Divinity from Jamestown School of Theology. She was a graduate of Richmond School of Nursing and was licensed as a registered nurse. She was the widow of Edward C. Booker. Survivors include a devoted sister, Vivian Holmes Pollock of Chesapeake; and a nephew, Wesley Peace III. She was predeceased in January of this year by her sister, Eula Holmes Peace. A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in Jerusalem Baptist Church, 718 Tidewater Drive, by the Rev. Thomas Venable. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Viewing will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday at Riddick Funeral Service, where the family will receive friends from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Friday.
