Mary M. Boone, R.N., 83, died May 17, 2003, at Virginia Beach General Hospital.
Born in Germantown, PA, June 21, 1919, she earned her nursing degree from St. 
Elizabeth's Hospital in Utica, NY, in September, 1939.  She went on to join the 
U.S. Navy in 1941, where she met and married her husband of 59 years, Charles G. 
Boone, DDS, in 1943.  They moved to Norfolk in 1954, where she raised her family.  
She worked for DePaul Hospital for 15 years and went on to Westminster Canterbury 
until she retired in 1991.
Her son, Paul H. Boone and her beloved husband, Charles G. Boone, DDS, predeceased 
her.  She is survived by her three children, Glenn Boone, Roberta (Bobbi) Boone 
Hurwitz and Lori

k Boone, Deanne Hurwitz Burbee, Carolyn Hurwitz Whitney, Kyle Boone Talhelm and 
Ryan Boone; and her great-grandchildren, Brandon and Mia Boone.
Msgr. William Pitt will hold a memorial service at St. Mary's Cemetery, 3000 
Church St., Norfolk, VA  23504, at 1 p.m. today.  The family requests that, in 
lieu of flowers, donations be made to the memorial fund in her name at any 
Wachovia Bank Branch, or can be mailed to 1200 Atlantic Shores Drive, Virginia 
Beach, VA. 23454.  Smith and Williams Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
