Mr. Boone was born in Norfolk and was retired as an aircraft mechanic from the Norfolk Naval Rework Facility after 22 years. He was a member of Noble Street Baptist Church, Portsmouth, Sunday School teacher, member and past treasurer of the Men's Usher Board, member of the Monday and Wednesday Night Bible Study Class. He also taught Bible Study Classes at Celestial Baptist Church, Portsmouth, and was a member of Calvary Evangelical Baptist Church Bible Study Group. He was an Army veteran of World War II, having served as a corporal. Survivors include his wife, Lowdusty Boone; one daughter, Sandra A. Boone of Portsmouth; one son, William H. Boone Jr. of Atlanta; one sister, Florence James of Norfolk; two grandsons, Eric Boone and Kwesi Boone, both of Atlanta; three nieces, Maxine Bowser and Margaret Speller, both of Norfolk, and Tamu of Hartford, Conn.; and three nephews, Otis James, John Beamon and James Beamon, all of Norfolk. A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in Noble Street Baptist Church by the Rev. Ronnie T. Northam. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery with military honors. Viewing will begin at 10 a.m. today in Corprew Funeral Home. The body will be placed in the church at 10 a.m. Friday.
