Booth Sr., 77, of the 2900 block of Beachmont Ave., died Feb. 17, 1998. The widower of Mildred Booth, he retired as an electrician/foreman for the Norfolk Naval Shipyard. Mr. Booth was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Norfolk, a lifetime member of the NAACP and a graduate of St. Emma Academy. He was also past president of the Tidewater Bridge Unit and a member of the Thomas B. Bridge Club. Survivors include two daughters, Cecilia B. Cooper and Christine Booth; a son, Imani Ali; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other friends and relatives. A funeral will be conducted at noon today in St. Mary's Basilica by the Rev. Monsignor Walter Barrett. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. Chatman Funeral Home is handling arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Mary's Steeple Restoration Fund.
