Borden, a well known and highly esteemed citizen of South Norfolk, died early yesterday morning at the residence of his daughter, Mrs. C. Elmo Billups, in Brambleton ward, after a lingering illness. The deceased was 70 years of age, a native of Nova Scotia. He was a resident of this section, however, for over forty years. He is survived by his wife and three children - Mrs. Elmo Billups, Miss Maggie Borden and Mr. William Borden. He was a member of the Liberty Street M.E. church since its organization in South Norfolk. Captain Borden and family, whose home is in South Norfolk, were spending the winter at the home of Mrs. Billups, in Brambleton. The funeral will take place from the residence of his daughter, in Brambleton, this afternoon at 2 o'clock and will be conducted by Rev. V.W. Bargamin. ********************** CAPTAIN J.N. BORDEN The funeral of Captain J.N. Borden was held from the residence of his daughter, Mrs. C. Elmo Billups, in Brambleton, at 2:30 o'clock yesterday afternoon and was attended by Oakdale Lodge of Odd Fellows, of which the deceased was a member. The service was conducted by Rev. V.W. Bargamin, pastor of the South Norfolk Methodist Church. The interment was in Magnolia Cemetery, Berkley. Elmo Billups, 222 Willoughby avenue, Brambleton ward, yesterday afternoon. Rev. V.W. Bargamin, pastor of Liberty Street M.E. church, South Norfolk, officiated and the interment was in Magnolia Cemetery.
