PORTSMOUTH - George Borjes, 68, of 1020 Bay St., died Sunday in his home.
A Norfolk native, he was a son of Charles S. and Mrs. Gertrude Russell Borjes 
and the husband of Mrs. Minnie Edmonds Borjes. He lived in Portsmouth for most 
of his life.
He was a retired employee of the Portsmouth Gas Co. and a former amateur 
athlete.
Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, George F. Borjes and Russell E. 
Borjes, both of Portsmouth; a daughter, Mrs. Nathlyn V. Howard of Richmond; a 
sister, Mrs. Mary Batts of Norfolk; and four grandchildren.
The body was taken to Sturtevant Funeral Home.

PORTSMOUTH – A funeral service for George Borjes, who died Sunday, will be held 
today at 11 a.m. in Sturtevant Funeral Home. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, 
Norfolk.
