A native and lifelong resident of Norfolk, Mr Borland was the son of the late Thomas R and Mrs Carrie Barney Borland, and had been in the employ of the Pennsylvania Railroad for more than 25 years. He was a member of the Episcopal Church. Besides his brother, Colonel Borland and his wife Rose Weyman Borland, he is survived by a second brother, Armistead Borland, of Norfolk. Funeral serveries and internment will be private this afternoon with the Rev George P Gunn, rector of the Church of the Good Shepard, Meadowbrook, officiating.
