Virginian Pilot and The Norfolk Landmark August 23, 1922

Mrs. Josiah T. Borum, died in Waterville, Me. Monday night at 12 o'clock at 
the home of her brother, Oscar R. Diggs, whom she was visiting.  Word of her 
death came here yesterday by telegram.  Since the death of her husband, 
Josiah T. Borum, who died several months ago, Mrs. Borum had been living 
with her daughter, Mrs. J.T. Cole, in Pine street, but had gone to her 
brother in Maine.
Besides her daughter, Mrs. Cole, she is survived by a son, J. Vernon Borum, 
in Jacksonville, Fla. and two brothers, Oscar R. Diggs in Maine and I.O. 
Diggs, of this city.
Mrs. Borum was one of the early settlers of Berkley.  She was one of the 
active members of Memorial Methodist Church and prominently identified with 
its societies and active work.
The body will be brought here by her brother and the funeral and burial will 
follow arrival.

Mrs. Josiah Borum - The body of Mrs. Josiah Borum, who died at the home of 
her brother, Oscar R. Diggs, in Waterville, Me., is expected to arrive here 
this morning via the N.Y., P. and N. Railroad and will be taken to the 
family residence, 206 Pine street.
The funeral service will be conducted in Memorial Methodist Church Friday 
afternoon at 3 o'clock,and burial will be in the family lot in Magnolia 
Cemetery.  J.V. Borum, son of the deceased, of Atlanta, Ga., has arrived to 
attend the funeral service.
