He was in the Army. A native of Edenton, N.C., he lived in the Chesapeake area 45 years. He was the husband of Mrs. Mary Cogliandro Boswell and a son of Louis and Mrs. Elizabeth Reid Boswell. He was a member of St. Matthew’s Catholic Church. Besides his widow, he is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Marie B. Wroten of Chesapeake and Mrs. Jeon B. Shriver of Hopewell; two sons, Ernest L. Boswell Jr. of Chesapeake and William Sanford Boswell of Elon, N.C.; three sisters, Mrs. Ethel B. Lane of Edenton, Mrs. Grace B. Thomas of Hopewell, and Mrs. Sadie B. Hornsby of Richmond; two brothers, William Louis Boswell and Walter Boswell of Edenton; three grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. The body will be taken from Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Indian River, to St. Matthew’s Catholic Church for a Requiem Mass Wednesday at 10 a.m. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery. The Office of the Dead will be recited in the funeral home tonight at 7. In lieu of flowers, contributions maybe sent to the Building Fund of St. Matthew’s Catholic Church.
