The Virginian Pilot Friday December 26, 1958
Benjamin B. (Capt. Benny) Bott, 87, of 108 Poplar Ave., Berkley, died in a 
Norfolk hospital Wednesday at noon after a short illness.  He was a son of 
Sidney S. and Mrs. Ella Columbia Taylor Bott, and husband of Mrs. Mary (Mae) 
Warner Bott.
A native of Smithfield, he had lived here for many years.  He was a member 
of Memorial Methodist Church and was a steward.  He also was a member of the 
South Norfolk Pythian Lodge.
Besides his wife, he is survived only by several nieces and nephews.
The body was taken to the Sykes Funeral Home, Berkley.  Funeral services 
will be conducted at Memorial Methodist Church today at 2 p.m.  Burial will 
be in Magnolia Cemetery.  The body will lie in state at the church one hour 
prior to services.
