Sept 23, 1950 Charles L Bottom Killed in 1944, Will Be Reburied Reburial services for Charles L. Bottom, staff sergeant, AAF, who was killed in action July 28, 1944, over Romania, will be conducted at the James V. Derry Funeral Chapel tomorrow, at 3 p.m. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. He was on his 33rd mission when shot down. He was 21 years old and had received presidential citations for services in the Air Forces. He was attached to Squadron 7077, 15th Air Force. He was a native of Rocky Mount, N.C., and while in Norfolk served in the Navy Yard as an apprentice sheet metal worker. He was the son of Curtis Lee Bottom and Mrs. Masie Johnson Holbrook. He is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Edward Hosack and Mrs. Neal Mallory; a maternal grandmother, Mrs. Mary Johnson and a paternal grandmother, Mrs. G.W. Whitaker.
