Norfolk Ledger Dispatch June 24, 1890
Funeral of Capt. C.O.Boutelle. The remains of this officer, well-known in this 
city, and whose death in Hampton Sunday had been reported, arrived here this 
morning on the steamer Luray, with a suitable escort. They were met at the 
wharf by a number of comrades and friends, several gentlemen belonging to the 
United States Coast and Geodetic Survey in Washington have reached here this 
morning by steamer. The remains were taken to Christ Episcopal Church were and 
at the grave in Elmwood Cemetery, the funeral services, according to the 
beautiful ritual of the Church, were conducted by Rev. O.S. Barten, D.D., the 
rector. 
The remains were borne by eight sailors of the United States Navy and the 
following were the honorary pallbearers: 
Coast and Geodetic Survey- Mears. H.G. Ogden, S Forney, Charles Junken and F. 
H. Parsons.
 Naval Officers- Capt. Charles S. Norton, of the Navy yard, and Capt. Aug. P. 
Cooke of the receiving ship Franklin. 
Citizens- Capt. B.P. Loyall and Mr. William Camp.
