Mary Rose Bowden, 84, passed away on April 1, 2012.
A Norfolk native, Mrs. Bowden was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer P. 
Wheeler, Sr, and Mary Moore Wheeler and a sister, Dorothy E. Wheeler.
Mrs. Bowden retired from Bell-Atlantic as a supervisor in the business office 
after thirty-one years of service. She was a member of Christ the King Catholic 
Church and volunteered at DePaul Medical Center.
Survivors include her loving son, Steven T. Bowden; two grandchildren, Clayton T. 
Bowden and Judson P. Bowden; two great grandchildren, Kaitlynn Bowden and Logan 
Bowden; four brothers, E.P. Wheeler, Jr., Joseph L. Wheeler, Stephen R. Wheeler 
and Edward B. Wheeler; and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 3, 2012, from 6 to 8 p.m. at 
Smith & Williams Funeral Home, Norview Chapel.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, April, 4, 2012, 10:30 
a.m. at Christ the King Catholic Church. Interment will follow at St. Mary's 
Catholic Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of choice.
