Jesse Bowe, 71, of 834 Bank street, who died in a Norfolk Hospital Oct. 2, was 
given final rites Sunday at Antioch Baptist Church.

The Rev. J. W. Matthews officiated at the service.  Burial was in Calvary 
Cemetery under direction of Morning Glory Funeral Home.

A native of Norfolk county, Mr. Bowe was a Norfolk resident 30 years.  He was 
employed as a janitor and was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Susan Bowe;  two sons, Harrison B. Bowe and 
William R. Bowe of New York;  four daughters, Mrs. Mary Williams, Mrs. Willie 
Smith, Mrs. Hazel Johnson and Mrs. Helen Johnson of Norfolk;  a brother, 
Harrison Bowe of Coinjock, NC;  a sister, Mrs. Lillian Goodman of New York;  
nine grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren.
