Norfolk Journal and Guide, Feb 22,1964
Norfolk - Mrs. Julia Holland Bowser of 721 Appomattox street, who died Feb. 10 
in a local hospital, received final rites Sunday at St. Mark’s Christian Church.

The Rev. J. Arthur Taylor officiated at the service.  Burial was in Mt. Olive 
Cemetery under direction of Pretlow Funeral Home.

A native of Nansemond County, Mrs. Bowser was a Norfolk resident 45 years.  She 
was a former treasurer of the St. Mark’s Church Missionary Society, former 
treasurer of the Tents and a member of the Eastern Star, Juliette Savings Club 
and Mt. Zion Christian Church of Nansemond County.
