The Virginian-Pilot, Thursday, December 15, 1960

NORFOLK - James Boyd, 38, of 1221 Maltby Ave. died Tuesday afternoon in a Norfolk
hospital after a short illness.

He was a son of Mrs. Elma Freeman and the late Oscar Boyd.

Born in Southampton County, he lived in Norfolk 35 years and worked at Sandler Fish
House two years.

Besides his mother, surviving are his widow, Mrs. Eliza Boyd; two brothers, Sgt.
Robert Boyd, USA, Germany, and Willie Boyd of Norfolk; and a half brother, Ben
Freeman Jr. of Norfolk.

The body was taken to Riddick Funeral Service. A funeral service will be held in Mt.
Zion Baptist Church Sunday at 1:30 p.m. by the Rev. W.O. DeLoatch, pastor, with
burial in Calvary Cemetery.
