Norfolk - Funeral services were held Tuesday in Jerusalem Baptist Church for 
George W. Boyd, 48, of 826 Reservoir avenue, husband of Mrs. Dorothy Boyd, who 
died Friday in a local hospital.

A native of Columbia, SC, he was a son of George and Mrs. Maggie Boyd Sr. He 
worked for Ames and Webb Construction Company for 20 years and was a member of 
First Baptist Church, Columbia, SC.

Surviving, besides his wife, are a son, George Boyd 3rd of Norfolk; a stepson, 
Floyd Jones of Norfolk; two daughters, Miss Carolyn Boyd and Miss Brenda Boyd, 
both of Norfolk; step-daughter, Miss Vernell Wallard of Norfolk; six brothers, 
Ernest Boyd of Winnsboro,SC, Leroy and David Boyd of Philadelphia, Matthew and 
Aaron Boyd of Baltimore and Willie Boyd of Detroit; two sisters, Mrs. Lillie Mae 
Johnson of Clarkton, NC; and Miss Maggie Lee Boyd of Winnsboro; and six 
grandchildren; three aunts and two uncles.

Morning Glory Funeral Home had charge of arrangements. The Rev. Thomas M. 
Venable officiated.
