Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Thursday, November 6, 1997 
Dr. James H. Boyd Sr., of the 5900 block of Northampton Blvd., died Nov. 2,
1997, in Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.

Born in Norfolk, he was a physician. Dr. Boyd was a life member of Alpha Phi
Alpha Fraternity and a member of Grace Episcopal Church, Norfolk, the National
Medical Association, American Medical Association, Old Dominion Medical
Association, Norfolk Academy of Medicine and Virginia and Norfolk Medical
Societies and the Nomads Golf Club.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Holley Boyd; a son, Dr. James H. Boyd Jr.;
two sisters, Mrs. Dorothea Davenport, Mrs. Charlotte Lang; a grandchild, Robin
Boyd; a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Brenda W. Boyd; and a host of relatives and friends.

A funeral will be conducted at noon Friday in Grace Episcopal Church by the Rev.
Harold J. Cobb Jr. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery . An Omega Service will be
conducted by the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity at 7 p.m. today at Hale Funeral Home.
