NORFOLK - Mrs. Edna Williams Boykin quietly entered into eternal life March 28,
2009. She was a native of New Bern, N.C., and the daughter of the late Deacon
Henry and Mary Smith Williams. She was the widow of Deacon Melvin Boykin.

Mrs. Boykin was a faithful member of Shiloh Baptist Church where she taught
Sunday school, was a member of the Women's Missionary Union, a leader of the
Girls in Action Missionary Group and sang in the Senior Choir.

She leaves to cherish her memory are three daughters: her twins, Edvena Boykin
Foreman (James), Melvena Boykin Gregg (Bruce) and Natalynn Boykin Roman
(Daniel); and a sister, Thelma W. Pleasant. She will also be sorely missed by
her seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death
by seven siblings, four brothers and three sisters.

A funeral will be conducted Friday at 11 a.m. in Shiloh Baptist Church, 745 Park
Ave., with the Rev. Dr. Keith I. Jones officiating. Burial will be in Calvary
Cemetery. Viewing will be Thursday from 2 to 8 p.m. in the funeral home. The
body will be placed in the church at 10 a.m. Friday. The family will receive
friends at the funeral home Thursday from 6 to 7 p.m. Riddick Funeral Service is
