Bennett, first vice president of W. G. Swartz Company, Inc., died at a local hospital yesterday afternoon at 1:30 o’clock after an illness of several weeks. She was the daughter of the late Edward and Mrs. Anne Maria Hudgins Bradshaw, and a native of Messick, York County. She had lived in Norfolk for the past 49 years and at the time of her death was residing at 830 Gates Avenue. Mrs. Bennett was a member of Ghent Methodist Church. Surviving in addition to her husband are two sisters, Mrs. George W. Elliott and Mrs. Eva Joyner, of Norfolk; and a brother, Capt. J. L. Bradshaw, of Messick, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday afternoon at 3:30 o’clock at the funeral chapel of James V. Derry, Colley and Harrington Avenues. The Rev. W. C. Gum, pastor of Ghent Methodist Church, will officiate, assisted by the Rev. E. Ruffin Jones, rector of St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
