Born May 18, 1923, in Norfolk VA, to Secondo Giovanni Bosio (Torino, Italy) and Carolina Sosa Rubin Bosio (Puebla, Mexico), Catherine was preceded in death by her husband of 23 years, Falcome "Bill" Brammer; her brother, Mario Secondo Bosio; and her sisters, Henrietta Bosio Westlake, Mary Bosio Picone and Virginia Bosio Cutler Mays. She is survived by her sister, Louise Bosio Booth, of Norfolk, VA, and generations of nieces and nephews. After the death of her beloved husband in 1977, Catherine devoted her life to the Catholic Church. A parishioner at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Fremont, CA, she worked tirelessly and no task was too menial. She also served as a Eucharistic Minister, a lector, an altar server and a visitor of the sick. Catherine worked part-time as the rectory's housekeeper, but her volunteer work in the parish and community was almost 24/7. Catherine was a member of the Third Order Carmelite, a religious order for laity. Active in the St. Vincent DePaul Society, she ministered to the poor and personally provided food and clothing. She promoted the spirit of Guadalupe through the Guadalupano Society by fundraising for her church and by assisting at the Brown Road Homeless Shelter. Father John Prochaska, pastor of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, said, "Katie rejoiced in the mercy of God and certainly was an instrument of Christ's mercy and love to others." The family will receive friends at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 12, 2016. The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 13, 2016, in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.
