Mrs. Mary Alice Branch died about 1:15 a.m. May 17 enrout to a Norfolk 
hospital. Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. May 23 at First Calvary 
Baptist Church with the Rev. C. E. Griffin, pastor, officiating. The Revs. 
J. Q. A. Lassiter and Charles Harris, a neighbor, spoke.

Mrs. Branch lived at 1339 Lead street. A native of Northampton County, NC, 
Mrs. Branch lived in Norfolk about 50 years since early childhood. She was 
the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Solomon Goode.

Survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Madeline B. Blow of Bartow FL; a son, Henry 
A. Branch of Washington DC; a sister, Mrs. Mary E. Deloatch, of Norfolk; and 
an aunt Mrs. Josephine Hicks, of Richmond VA.

Interment was in Calvary Cemetery with Hale's Funeral Home in charge.
