He had been in failing health for the past 15 years. He was a native of Berkley. He was a son of the late Robert Lee and Mrs. Hattie Proctor Branton. Mr. Branton was a member of the Episcopal Church and the Fraternal Order of Eagles. Surviving him are his wife, Mrs. Blanche Cheatham Branton, of Norfolk, and two brothers, William H. and Fred Branton, both of New York City. Funeral services will be conducted at the Cox Funeral Home tomorrow at 11 A.M. by the Rev. Eric de Pendleton, rector of the Church of the Epiphany.
