Minnie Lee Braxton was born on September 5, 1939, to the late Gladys Burton Dozier
(1968) in Currituck, North Carolina. Minnie Lee was raised by her great-uncle, Mr.
Peter Lindsay, in Norfolk, VA. Minnie departed this life on Saturday, October 4,
2025, at Maimonides Health Center of Virginia Beach.

Minnie Lee was predeceased in death by her father, Peter Lindsey; her mother, Gladys
Burton; her husband, John Braxton Jr.; and her four brothers, Ned Dozier, Jr.,
Walter Dozier, Victor Dozier, and Matthew Dozier.

Minnie attended several churches in the Hampton Roads area. She graduated from
Norview High School in 1954. She was a custodian for the Norfolk Public Schools
district for 20 years and the City of Norfolk Courthouse part-time for several
years. Minnie was very skilled in arts and crafts. In her pastime, she designed
photo album covers, crocheted blankets, sweaters, hats, and dolls. She was a loving
mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend to those who knew her.
She will be missed forever.

She leaves behind her sons, Curtis Montez Bradby (Brenda) and Darryl R. Bradby;
grandchildren, Donte Bradby (Lynell), Darryl L. Bradby, and DaMonte Bradby;
great-grandchildren, Autumn Bradby, Landon Bradby, and Zeniya Bradby; cousins,
William Akens, Ruth Lewis, and Junitia Gregory; and a host of other relatives and
friends.

Graveside Service on Wednesday, October 15, 2025 at 12 Noon in Calvary Cemetery,
1600 St. Julian Avenue, Norfolk.
