Elizabeth City, NC - The funeral services of Mrs. Maude Howard Braxton, R.N.,
daughter of Mrs. Celesta Howard and wife of the late J. T. Braxton, were held at
the St. Stephen Baptist Church, Sunday, March 22.  The Rev. C. M. Cartwright
spoke.  Her life in the community was also praised by the Rev. J. R. McRay. 
Interment was made in Calvary Cemetery, Norfolk, VA, where a large number of her
friends had gathered for the final tribute.  Mrs. Braxton died five days after
the death of her husband, who was a prominent undertaker here for nine years.
