The Norfolk Virginian Pilot Monday March 1, 1948
Mrs. Effie Lee Bray, 59, of Doziers Corner, Norfolk County, died yesterday at 
4:40 p.m. in a Norfolk hospital after an illness of one year. A lifelong 
resident of Norfolk County, she was the daughter of the late William Thomas and 
Mrs. Joanna Frances Pritchard Etheridge, and wife of Nathan J. Bray.
Besides her husband, she is survived by one daughter, Mrs. C.W. Dozier, of 
Doziers Corner; one step-daughter, Mrs. R.A. Brown, of Washington; one sister, 
Mrs. Gussie Berrie, of Norfolk; one brother, T.E. Etheridge, of Bonneys Corner, 
Princess Anne County, two grandchildren and one step grandchild.
Mrs. Bray was a member of the Oak Grove Methodist Church.
The body was removed to the Graham Funeral Home, South Norfolk, where services 
will be conducted tomorrow at 3:30 p.m. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery.
