Brent, poisoned eating one and a half bichloride tablets nearly a month ago at the family residence in South street, died Tuesday morning at St. Vincent's hospital after suffering in agony for several weeks. She secured the tablets from the wash stand and thinking them candy ate them. Dr. Rawles, an associate of Dr. J.A. Norfleet, was immediately summoned, who exhausted his skill in an effort to save her, but without avail. She continued to grow worse. She was removed to St. Vincent's hospital and the assistance of Dr. Royster was secured, but her condition was beyond the reach of medical skill. During the time of her illness several physicians were consulted, but none of them gave any encouragement. The funeral was conducted from the residence yesterday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock, Rev. A.J. Ramsey, pastor of the Gospel Church, officiating. The interment was in Magnolia Cemetery.
