Norfolk - Funeral services for Mrs. Viola Downes Brewer of 1216 Roscoe street, 
who died March 15 in a local hospital after a short illness, will be held Sunday 
at 1:30 at Garrett’s Community Church with the Rev. J. A. Askew officiating.  
Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery under direction of Pretlow Funeral Home.

She was a native of Norfolk and the daughter of the late George Downes and Ida 
Downes and the widow of Hazel Brewer.  Mrs. Brewer was a member of the Tents, 
Daughters of Samaria, Good Samaritans, and Garrett’s Church.

She is survived by a son, Oner Brewer of Norfolk.

Pretlow Funeral home is in charge of the arrangements.
