NORFOLK — Edward Jaynes Brickhouse, 83, a native of Norfolk and the widower of 
Margaret Glass Brickhouse, died Friday in a hospital.
He was chairman and treasurer of Chesapeake Auto Supply Inc., of which he had 
been one of the founders and where he had worked since 1920 until recently. He 
was a board member and for many years treasurer of Norfolk General Hospital, a 
former member of Norfolk City Council and a member of First Presbyterian Church 
and Norfolk Rotary Club.
Survivors include nephews, including Thomas E. Brickhouse Jr. and E. Everett 
Brickhouse, both of Virginia Beach.
The funeral was conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at graveside in Elmwood Cemetery 
by the Rev. J. Shepherd Russell Jr. H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, Norfolk, had 
charge of arrangements.
