Virginian Pilot July 3, 1936
Mrs. Cornelia Peterson Brickhouse, aged 86 years, widow of Smith Nottingham 
Brickhouse, and daughter of the late Rev. Peter Archibald and Lucy Williamson 
Brickhouse, died at 9:20 o’clock yesterday morning at the residence, 1033 West 
Princess Anne Road. Mrs. Brickhouse was a native of Petersburg, and had been a 
resident of Norfolk for the past years. Surviving her are three daughters, Miss 
Lucy Brickhouse, Mrs. J.H. Brownley and Miss Caroline Brickhouse, one son, 
Smith N. Brickhouse, Jr. of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, five grandchildren and 
several nieces and nephews. She was a member of Ghent M.E. Church.
Funeral services will be held at the above residence tomorrow afternoon at 4:30 
o’clock with the Rev. W.A. Wright, D.D., presiding elder of the Norfolk 
district, and the Rev. John W. Rustin, pastor of Ghent M.E. Church, 
officiating. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
