Brickhouse were conducted June 16 at First Baptist Church, Bute street, by the pastor, the Rev. E. Paul Simms. Mrs. Brickhouse was born in Norfolk, and had lived most of her life here. She was an active member of First Baptist Church, and in its Sunday school. She was also active in the Phyllis Wheatley Circle. A few years ago, she moved to Staten Island, NY, to live with her daughter and became a member of St. Philips Baptist Church. She was 93 years old, and died June 13 after an illness of about four days. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Alma Brickhouse Evans; three sons, William P., Charles H., and Cecil W. Brickhouse; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery with Hale Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
