Mrs. Matilda Bridges, born March 12, 1910, the daughter of John E. and the late
Mrs. Sarah Emmett of 1114 East Olney road, died Monday, March 24, between 4 and
5 p.m. at Norfolk General Hospital.

A graduate of Booker T. Washington High School, Mrs. Bridges had been ill for
only a short time before her death.

She is survived by her father, Mr. Emmett; stepmother, Mrs. Pearl Emmett;
husband, David Bridges; brother, John R. Emmett of New York; uncle, Robert C.
Emmett of Brooklyn NY; and two aunts of Baltimore and New York.

Funeral services were held Sunday at Grace Episcopal Church by the Re. Richard
B. Martin, pastor.
