Ballentine Home for the Aged. A native of Columbia, Tenn., she was a daughter of Joseph Minnick and Mrs. Emily Donelson Polk Williams and the widow of George Briggs, who operated a lumber business in Norfolk many years. She was a member of First Church of Christ Scientist. During the Depression she was active in welfare work in Norfolk. She was an amateur artist specializing in flowers, many of which she grew in the garden of her former home in Edgewater. She is survived by two cousins, Mrs. Richard T. Cox of Baltimore and Mrs. James Harrison Parker of Norfolk. The body was taken to H. D. Oliver Funeral Apartments. A funeral service will be held today at 4:30 p.m. in Elmwood Cemetery by Mrs. Mary Frances Morrisette, Christian Science reader.
