The Virginian Pilot Sunday February 10, 1963
George Shelby Briggs, 60, of 1008 W. 40th St., husband of Mrs. Frances Dodson 
Briggs and son of Mrs. Priscilla Williams Briggs and the late George Stuart 
Briggs, died in a Norfolk hospital Saturday morning.
A native of Norfolk he was a retired government employe.
Besides his wife and mother he is survived by a stepson, Robert D. Mullins of 
Norfolk.
The body will be taken from Derry-Twiford Funeral Home to Elmwood Cemetery for a 
funeral service to be conducted Monday at 11 a.m. by the Rev. Peyton R. Williams 
of Christ and St. Luke's Episcopal Church.
