The Norfolk Virginian Pilot Tuesday January 18. 1938
Maurice Bright Briggs, aged 37, of 910 Fauquier street, Berkley, died yesterday 
afternoon at 2:30 o'clock in a local hospital after a long illness.  He was a 
native and lifelong resident of this section.

He was the son of Andrew and Mrs. Elizabeth Eicher Briggs.  Besides his 
parents, he is survived by one sister, Mrs. Gladys Ellen Howren, of Berkley.  
He was a member of Berkley Avenue Baptist Church.  The body was removed to the 
Graham Funeral Home, 124 East Berkley avenue, where funeral services will be 
conducted Wednesday afternoon at 3 o'clock.  Burial will be in Riverside 
Memorial Park.
