Briggs, 64, of Red Oak Lane, Ballston Spa, passed away Saturday, June 14, at Saratoga Hospital. Born Dec. 3, 1943 in Albany, he was the son of the late George and Georgette Briggs. He was an Air Force veteran, serving during Vietnam. George worked for Niagara Mohawk for 30 years, retiring in 1995. His greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Lise Briggs; his children, Chip Briggs and his wife, Tanya, of Norfolk, Va., and Michelle Tortorelli and her husband, Lou, of Howell, N.J.; four grandchildren, Taylor and Parker Briggs, and Kaila and Brooke Tortorelli; two brothers, Gary Briggs of Grafton, Mass. and Dean Briggs of Niskayuna; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 17 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Milton Avenue, Ballston Spa. There will be no calling hours.
