The Norfolk Virginian Pilot November 2, 1937
Mrs. Martha Hall Brinkley, aged 56, wife of Wade H. Brinkley, died at the 
residence, Kempsville, Princess Anne County, last night at 9:30 o'clock. 
Besides her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Misses Elizabeth and 
Joyce Brinkley; five sons, Wilton H., John H., H. Stuart, Hugh W. and Edward L. 
Brinkley, all of Kempsville; a stepson, W. Irving Brinkley, of Roanoke, and a 
brother, Capt. John H. Hall, of Palo Alto Cal. Mrs. Brinkley was a native of 
Bertie County, N.C., and had been a resident of Kempsville for 18 years. She 
was a member of the Emmanuel Episcopal Church.
The body was taken to the Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home pending funeral 
arrangements.
