A lifelong resident of Norfolk, she lived at 5401 Rolfe Ave. She was a daughter of Francis M. and Mrs. Missouri Davis Bensten. She was a past noble grand of Virginia Rebekah Lodge 13, IOOF, a member of Virginia Chapter 22, Order of Eastern Star, Norfolk Temple 3, Pythians Sisters, and Independent Review 5, Women's Benefit Association. She also was a member of Colonial Avenue Methodist Church. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Edward Hamilton of Norfolk; one granddaughter, Mrs. Calvin P. Leebrick of Lynchburg; two grandsons, Earl R. Simpson of Lynchburg and Stanley W. Simpson of Richmond; and six great- grandchildren. A funeral service will be conducted in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home Friday at 11 a.m. with burial in Elmwood Cemetery.
