Edward Stanley Brinkley – Funeral services for Mr. Brinkley, retired 
superintendent of Norfolk city public schools, who died Sunday, were conducted at 
the H. D. Oliver Funeral Apartments yesterday at 4 p.m. by the Rt. Rev. George P. 
Gunn, D.D., Bishop Coadjutor of the Diocese of Southern Virginia, and the Rev. 
Norman Slater, rector of the Church of the Good Shepherd, Meadowbrook. Burial was 
in Elmwood Cemetery.
