Norfolk - James Edward Brinkley Jr. of 2631 Monrovia Drive died Sunday, July 
10, in a hospital.

A native of Maryland, he was the husband o Mrs. Louise Brinkley.  He retired 
from the Public Works Department of the City of Norfolk.

Besides his widow, survivors include a daughter, Miss Thelma Brinkley of 
Norfolk;  a stepson, Earl Whitehurst Jr. of Chicago;  seven grandchildren;  
and a great-grandchild.

A funeral was held Wednesday, July 13 in Hale Funeral Parlor by the Rev. J. 
L. Kearney.  Burial was in Calvary Cemetery.
