Virginian Pilot and Norfolk Landmark February 22, 1916
Mrs. Kate Newell Britt, wife of J.P. Britt, died yesterday at 6:10 p.m. at her 
home in the Hague Apartments, 703 Fairfax avenue.  She was 66 years old and is 
survived by her husband, three sons, Robert and Charles of Norfolk and Paul Britt 
of Oklahoma; two daughters, Miss Agnes Britt and Mrs. B.M. Smith of Norfolk; a 
sister, Mrs. G.H. Shields of Albemarle county, Va.  Funeral will take place 
Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Ascension P.E. church, of which she was a member and will 
be conducted by the rector, Rev. George S. Vest.  Burial in Elmwood.
