Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - December 24, 1994
Rebecca Leary Brock, 85, of the 600 block of River Walk Parkway, a retired 
registered nurse, died Dec. 23, 1994, in a Chesapeake hospital. 
Mrs. Brock was born in Old Norfolk County, Chesapeake. She had retired from the 
office of Dr. Horace G. Ashburn after 40 years. She was the widow of Harry B. 
Brock and was a member of Raleigh Heights Baptist Church for the past 73 years. 
She was a 1930 graduate of the Norfolk General Hospital School of Nursing and 
was a member of the Norfolk General Hospital School of Nursing Alumni. She was 
the daughter of the late Martha Smith Leary and Evan S. Leary. 
Survivors include two sisters, Mattie L. Hubbs of Knoxville, Tenn. and 
Marguerite L. Nicholas of Chesapeake; and nine nieces and two nephews. 
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday in Raleigh Heights Baptist 
Church by the Rev. Penny Wilson and the Rev. Henry Napier. Burial will be in 
Riverside Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Graham Funeral Home, 
South Norfolk Chapel, on Sunday from 7 to 8 p.m. and at 713 Wickwood Drive, 
Chesapeake, at all other times. Memorial contributions may be made to the 
Raleigh Heights Baptist Church Building Fund.
