The Virginian Pilot and Norfolk Landmark May 11, 1938

Emmett Elwood Brock, Jr., aged 22 died at the residence of his parents, Emmett 
E. and Mrs. Elsie Miller Brock, 1034 West Thirty-Forth Street, yesterday 
morning at 2:30 o’clock after a long illness. He was a native of Norfolk, 
residing here all of his life. He was a graduate of the College of William and 
Mary. Surviving him besides his parents are his maternal grandmother, Mrs. L.J. 
Miller, of Norfolk, and his paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. S.A. Brock, of 
Back Bay. Funeral service will be conducted this afternoon at 3:30 o’clock at 
the Derry Funeral Chapel, corner of Colley and Harrington Avenues. The Rev. 
H.L. Hastings, pastor of Zion Methodist Church of which the deceased was a 
member will officiate. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
