Brockenbrough, were conducted this afternoon at 2:30 o’clock at the home on Pinner street, by the Rev. Carl B. Craig, pastor of the Presbyterian Church, and the Rev. H. N. Tucker, rector of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church. Burial was in Elmwood Cemetery, Norfolk. During the services at the home, Mr. Tucker read the hymn, “Laborer Rest, Thy Task Is O’er,” and at the grave read Tennyson’s, “Crossing the Bar.” Among the many beautiful florals were those from the Women’s Auxiliary of the Presbyterian Church, the church circle, and from the Nansemond River Garden Club and from the Suffolk Literary Club, in which Mrs. Brockenbrough held membership. The casket was covered with a pall of Easter lilies and white snapdragons. Active pallbearers were J.P. Pinner, J.T. Withers, M.K. Kendrick, B.A. Kelly, W.H. Darden, R.L. Woodward, Jr., T.A. Jordan, of Suffolk and J.G. Fiveash of Norfolk. Friends and neighbors served as honorary pallbearers. Among the out-of-town relatives and friends who attended the funeral services were Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Fiveash, Mr. and Mrs. Curtis Nottingham, and Mr. Batchelder of Norfolk, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Brockenbrough, Austin Brockenbrough, Jr., Mrs. John Brockenbrough and Mrs. Thomas Creston of Richmond.
