Virginian-Pilot July 9 & 10, 1949
BROCKETT, JOHN BYRON – At a local hospital, Friday, July 8, 1949, at 10:30 o’clock 
p.m., JOHN BYRON, husband of Mrs. Kate L. Brockett and son of the late John B. and 
Mrs. Myrtle Luke Brockett. Remains were taken to the H. D. Oliver Funeral 
Apartments, No. 1501 Colonial Avenue, pending arrangements.

John Byron Brockett – The body of Mr. Brockett, who died Friday at a local 
hospital, will be taken from the H. D. Oliver Funeral Apartments to Elmwood 
Cemetery for private services today with the Rev. E. P. Bush, supply rector of St. 
Paul’s Episcopal Church, officiating.
