Norfolk Ledger-Dispatch February 11, 1909
The funeral of Harry Bromstead, for fifteen years a faithful employee in Nor­folk 
of the Merritt & Chapman Derrick and Wrecking Company, took place from the First 
Lutheran Church today at 11 a. m., with services conducted by Rev. W. H. Riser, 
the pastor. There were many beautiful floral tributes, in­cluding a standing 
anchor from the Merritt & Chapman officials, a standing anchor from the men of 
the steamer Rescue, a pillow from other Merritt & Chapman officials, and a 
beautiful cluster of roses from the men of the steam­er Coley. The interment was 
in Elm­wood cemetery. The following were the pallbearers: W. H. Lauder, Captain 
Ransone. Captain Kight, John Jacobson, Martin Benson and R. C. Sollie.
